Original post on the passing of Trevor foster:

Lancashire Golf are saddened to inform you of the passing of one of our most prominent and renowned county players, Trevor Foster, on the 28th December.

Trevor Foster (right) with his silver medal at the Senior British Open.

Trevor was a cornerstone of the mens county team for many years, amassing a highly impressive 111 caps. He then progressed to our Senior Mens side and continued his impressive performances. On the very rare occasions anyone did manage to get the better of him, such a victory was highly valued by the opposition, which acts as great testament to his abilities and how highly he was regarded.

Trevor was Lancashire Mens Champion in 1987 and 1990, as well as also winning the Lancashire Senior Mens championship.

He was British Senior Mens Champion in 2018 and won the silver medal for leading amateur in the British Senior Open, as well as a host of other county and national titles. He also represented England on many occasions.

Trevor will be sorely missed by us all, and our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time. Funeral details will be available from the office when they are known, in due course.
